Our Story
A Michigan Orchard in the Making
Jeff Hollow Orchard began with a simple fascination: the incredible history hiding inside an apple.
Not just the familiar varieties found in grocery stores, but the forgotten ones. The apples our grandparents knew. The unusual heirlooms with names, flavors, and stories that deserve another generation.
What started as an interest in growing apples has become a much bigger vision — a living apple museum, a traditional cider house, a pumpkin patch, and eventually a haunted attraction that takes Halloween seriously.
The orchard is still growing, and that's part of the story.

Most of what I'm building takes years to establish. That's fine. The best orchards always do.

A Piece of Living History
The Johnny Appleseed Connection
John Chapman planted nurseries across Ohio and Indiana in the early 1800s. The Algeo tree in Ohio is believed to be connected to his original stock. Through grafting, that genetic identity can still be preserved — and I'm working toward acquiring authenticated material descended from it.

Halloween at the Hollow
When the Harvest Ends, the Hollow Comes Alive.
One of my biggest goals is to eventually build a haunted attraction right here at the Hollow — detailed sets, custom-built animatronics, fog, lighting, and the kind of experience people remember long after they leave. Still on the drawing board, but I'm taking it seriously.
